The plan and dimensions of the hall have been conjectured by Elizabeth Holland ('Earliest Bath Guildhall' 171) from contemporary accounts and an 18th c. description.
The hall was a single-storey space open to the roof with a small buttery at the SE end. The main entrance was towards the centre on the W side. A passage at the N end led to the kitchen and pantry.
By 1581 a bay window had been added, probably by the dais at the SW end. The windows were glazed though the exact number is unknown.
