The hall originally had 3 bays supported by 4 timber pillars, a screens passage and service rooms at the lower end but it has been divided into smaller rooms, with an 18th c. roof.

Some of the outer walls of the 13th c. great hall remain in position though heavily repaired. There is no evidence of a fireplace in the hall so a central hearth has been assumed by architectural historians.
