Textual Description:
'On the left [of the SE entrance door] was a second door into the hall itself, and on the right three archways still in existence. The two outer ones opened into the pantry and buttery, each eighteen feet by fourteen, vaulted in stone and with chambers over, and the centre one to the great kitchen, forty-eight feet by seventeen, the two latter with open roofs and of one story only. At the upper end of the hall was a door that led to the solar or camera and a little study, and to a newel staircase that led to chambers in the solar, and also to the chapel which stood over the great cellar, forty-two feet by twenty.'
