On expeditions to West Indies Nov. 1582--Nov. 1583; Capt on Francis Drake's voyage to the West Indies, Spanish Main and coast of Florida 1585--6; on expeditions against the Spanish Armada 1588; to Portugal 1590; to Azores 1592; and to West Indies, Brazil and Straits of Magellan June 1593. Captured by the Spanish at San Matreo June 1594 and imprisoned at Panama and Lima; transferred to Seville, Spain 1597; transferred to prison at Madrid, Spain 1599--1602
