The original stage was an irregular trapezoid in shape, estimated to have been around 513.4 square feet.

In this iteration of the space, the yard measured 1262.62 square feet, with a slope down towards the stage.

There was an open area under the floor boards of the stage, most likely used for storage or many other potential purposes like trapdoor entrances and exits.

The tiring house was delimited by the upstage border of the stage and extended back to the inner frame of the playhouse structure. This area was used for actors to dress and rest backstage during performances.

A major aspect of the extant floor surface is an incline down to the N, which suggests a raked surface at approximately 5° toward the stage to allow viewing throughout the yard. This stage was raked significantly more than the second incarnation. There is no evidence of a roof overhanging the first Rose stage, but if there were a canopy, it would have been very small (Bowsher and Miller, Rose and the Globe, 118).
