Tattershall Castle
Description / History (pre-1642)
The large room above the ground floor parlour has been identified as Cromwell's great hall. Originally the walls would have been plastered, with wainscotting and tapestries hung from wooden blocks (Avery, Tattershall 13).
The roof and floor were reconstructed during the early 20th c. restoration.
