St Guthlac's Church
Description / History (pre-1642)
The measurements are approximate. The S aisle is 46' x 11'4" but the N aisle was widened to 20' in the 19th c. though its length remains 46'. There are approximately 12' between the bases of the columns.
The nave has 3 bays, with wide arches and good sight-lines from the aisles. The nave roof is a later replacement.
4 15th c. clerestory windows on the N and S sides bring light into the nave. Most of the stained glass in the windows is Victorian.
