The hall had a parlour to the E at the high end, a kitchen at the low end and a pantry on the S side. The kitchen lay to the W. Entrance at the SW corner was via an external staircase. 2 windows on the N wall overlooked the market (Atkinson, <i>Cambridge Described</i> 85).
