St Saviour's Church
The restored columns of the 4 bays of the nave are in their original position. The painted stone pulpit dates from 1490 but the figures of saints originally in the niches were removed during the Civil War.
The W end has sustained the most alteration over the centuries and the dimensions have been affected by the extension of a gallery during the 1630s renovations. The font on the NW side of the nave is not in its original position.
The approximate dimensions are 46' across the nave and transepts: 11.7' across the N transept wall to the outer column edge, 21' across the central nave to the column edge and 14' across the S transept wall to the outer edge of the columns. The nave length from the rood screen to the edge of the renovated W wall is 68'. The length between columns is 14.5'.
