The 16th c. hall was built on a grander scale in the SE range of the courtyard, with the great kitchen adjacent. Entrance from the courtyard was via a staircase.
Curwen, Castles and Fortified Towers 404, provides dimensions and information that there was an open timber roof. The remains of an arched Tudor fireplace can still be seen on the outer wall near the high end but the hall is otherwise ruinous.
