Located on the ground floor of the central block of the house facing the outer courtyard.
Entrance was through the doors at the lower end of the hall.

The service wing does not survive intact but the 3 original doors leading to the former buttery, cellar and passageway to the kitchen remain beyond the screens passage at the N end.

2 massive 16th c.oak tables remained in the hall in the early 20th c. (Curwen, 'Middleton Hall' 110).
