Private Residence
Performance Space: Hall
Width: 24' Length: 40'
Built: ca. 1525

The hall is on the ground floor of the Tudor residence.

The early Tudor banqueting hall was altered during the Elizabethan period when part of the original room was annexed to create a small study. The original dimensions as cited by Curwen ('Isel Hall' 127) are now obscured by this subdivision and a later passageway.

'A huge ingle nook occupied the western end of the room, and added an extra five feet to its length; whilst at the other end, where there is now a recessed window, can be seen a rough stone opening where, I am told, a second fireplace previously existed' (Curwen, Isel Hall 127).

Current Status

Now used as a dining room.
