Notes: 

During a performance, a man tried to get past the gatekeeper without paying, whereupon a fight ensued, which involved 3 players named John Bentley, John Singer, and Richard Tarlton. Examination of witnesses (15--17 June) continues on pp 71--76. Entries in the Quarter Session Minute Books (see pp 66--9) recorded Bentley and Singer being committed to prison (17 June), bound over to appear at the next sessions (19 June and 1 July) and failing to appear to answer the charges (23 Sept.)
