Troupe (including Thomas Swinnerton) were not given permission to perform because they had already been allowed to play for 4 days during the week of 1--6 April 1616. Swinnerton informed the Court he would play on Monday 2 June 1616 whether he had the city's leave or not but he agreed to desist after the city offered him a gratuity
