Textual Description
The hall has a large 5-light window at the high and low ends in the Perpendicular style. Both windows were restored after World War II. The present W window illustrates aspects of life in York.
Additional light was provided by 6 3-light windows in the N and S aisles. An early 19th c. view of the hall shows that the W window in the S aisle extended to the ground level, adding extra light to the dais. The windows were originally partly glazed and partly shuttered.
