It is uncertain who John Joseph was and whether his house was a private residence, tavern or inn.
A possible performance venue. A payment for the Duke of Gloucester's minstrels' expenses was made at Joseph's house in 1445--6. (Another payment, for their horses expenses, was made at the house of Richard Forde, a vintner and jurat). The minstrels may also have performed at Joseph's house.
