Commentary
Interior view of the SE bay alcove of the great hall.

The 2 5-sided bays situated at either end of the high table possess dimensions of 12' across by 10' deep. The sills are 3' 6' high. The windows above span the full height of the room. There are 4 lights on 4 levels in the centre and 2 lights on 4 levels in each side of the 2 angle and 2 side sections. There are reputedly 4,000 panes of Flemish glass in these windows.
