Little is known about the 13th c. guildhall, built in Fore Street at the junction with Church Street.
As the seat of civic government and centre for festive occasions, the guildhall was probably the venue for some of the performances by touring entertainers before the mayor and city officials. A broken series of accounts survives for Launceston with performers recorded between 1470 and 1576.
Long demolished.
1227 Burgesses of Dunheved granted permission to build a guildhall. The guildhall served Launceston as well.
mid-17th c. 2nd guildhall erected on a different site in the square.
1841--2 2nd guildhall demolished to make space for the Corn (or Butter) Market.
1881 3rd guildhall erected in Western Road.
