Venue Type & Location
Overview
The site of the Copplestones' medieval house was in wooded hills near the main road from Exeter to Barnstaple. Its 18th c. successor is located nearby, but not on the original site.
Performance History
A probable performance venue. No Copplestone household records survive but entertainers under the family's patronage performed elsewhere in Devon in the 15th c. It is likely that they also performed at home for their patrons.
