Little is known about the Chequers Inn, located in the Mercery (now Church Street) in Folkestone.
The Prince's Players were paid at the Chequers Inn in 1544.
Long demolished.
1544 Recorded as the site of a performance payment, under the ownership of Mr Kennett.
early 18th c. Renamed the George by this time. Subsequently the inn was relocated to Rendezvous Street.
