Overview

The Cornwalls' castle stood at the confluence of the River Teme and Ledwyche Brook near the meeting of Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire at Tenbury.

An early 18th c. brick house stands on the same site.

Performance History

A probable performance venue. Although contemporary household accounts for the Cornwall family do not survive, there is evidence that they patronized entertainers recorded elsewhere in Shropshire in the early 16th c. It is probable that they also performed at Burford for their patrons.

Current Status

Nothing remains of the castle except some wall fragments. The Burford Gardens are open all year at hours as advertised.
