Late 18^th c renovations covered most of the original hall, but a 20^th c restoration prior to the building’s demolition uncovered some of the features as they existed in the late 16^th c.  The hall had a wooden ceiling composed of oak tie-beams.  The W side contained a mullioned window, 6 lights wide by four high.  The S side contained 3 windows consisting of 2 tiers of 4 lights, with the upper ones trefoil-headed.  A fireplace was located between the second and third windows.  The opposite wall likely contained similar windows.  On the W end of the S side stood another large window with a low windowsill, which was likely used to help light the solar block that was added to the hall in the late 16^th c, as well as several stone arched doorways leading to stairs, the solar, and chambers.
