A very high nave space comparable to a private hall with excellent sight lines between wide arch openings. The windows are not overly large, so the space would have been darker than Ludlow Castle hall, for example. The Perpendicular wooden rood screen remains in place.
The present nave dimensions (85' x 26') do not reflect the potential performance space as it existed in the 1540s.7 late medieval chantry chapels filled the W end beyond the porch.
The width of the aisles is 22' and the transept crossing is 18'2" wide in front of the rood screen. The depth of the transept crossing is 27'6".
