A long, low 5-bayed room, reduced from its original length when the Guild Chapel tower extension was added at the N end in the 19th c. The length of each bay is estimated to have been 14' before alterations. The extension linking the hall with the Chapel now contains the porter's lodge and entrance passage to the courtyard with a room above.
The almshouses were attached to the hall by the late 16th c., blocking an original door and window between the 2 buildings.
18th c. The hall was partitioned and the ceiling lowered.
1965 Renovated for use as the School Library.
