'Hornby Castle' 402

Textual Description: 
'...copied from an old survey book,1584. First, the Castle is very faire built, standing stately upon the topp of a great hill, haveing som several gates and wards before ye shall enter into the s'd Castle. And at the lowest foot of the hill standeth the first gate; and the town of Hornby, being a markett Town, which Markett is kept on Monday, doth adjoin to the said first gate of the said Castle.'
