  • Typical Fare: In the 1840s and ‘50s, the Newburgh Rooms seem to have been used for all manner of entertainments, including vocal and instrumental concerts, displays of hypnotism & mesmerism, Shakespearean readings, exhibitions, and performances by variety performers (a la Tom Thumb).
