  • Performance Space Description: Little information about this performance space has yet been found. The building’s façade, which still stands, is described on the Theatres Trust site as “a handsome restrained ashlar face” with the following features: “Three storeys and seven bays, the three central bays topped by a pediment containing a bust of Shakespeare in a recess, the only visible clue that this was once a playhouse.”

  • The Theatre Royal, Dundee was built in 1810, and largely destroyed by fire in 1888.


  • Though the theatre’s original façade still stands, the site is now occupied by office buildings and shops.
