  • The Theatre Royal Derby opened in 1773, after being converted from a malthouse.

  • According to the Theatres Trust Site, the Theatre closed in 1864 after struggling due to competition from other nearby entertainment venues. It was then remodeled and opened as a Gospel House in 1865.

  • The building was eventually transformed into a magistrates court, but is currently not in use.
