"A public entertainment, we understand, was yesterday prepared by Mr. Mackenzie's Committee, at Elliott's Tavern, in honor of the "Glorious Minority" who were all invited to attend. The glorious minority however, we hear from some cause or other did not think proper to grace the patriots table with their presence, and so the patriotic committee were left to digest their "Pork, Potatoes and Politics" by themselves" (Kingston Chronicle 21 January, 1832, 3).
