\n<\/span>Say light and color in the brain do dwell,
\n<\/span>That motion in the brain doth light beget,<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span>And if no brain, the world in darkness shut.<\/span>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span>But be it<\/span>4<\/sup><\/a><\/span> that the brain hath eyes to see, \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span> 5
\n<\/span>Then<\/span>5<\/sup><\/a><\/span> eyes and brain would<\/span>6<\/sup><\/a><\/span> make the light to be.
\n<\/span>If so, poor Donne was out when he did say
\n<\/span>If all the world were blind, \u2019twould still be day.
\n<\/span>Say they, light would not in the air<\/span>7<\/sup><\/a><\/span> reign,
\n<\/span>Unless you\u2019ll grant<\/span>8<\/sup><\/a><\/span> the world were one great brain. \u00a0 \u00a0 10
\n<\/span>Some ages in some opinions all agree;<\/span>9<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span>The next doth strive to make them false to be.
\n<\/span>But<\/span>10<\/sup><\/a><\/span> what is new doth all so pleasing sound,<\/span>11<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span>That reasons old are as mere nonsense found.<\/span>12<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
