The reason why fire burns,<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span> and burning smarts,
\n<\/span>Is that it hath so many<\/span>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span> little parts\u2014
\n<\/span>Which parts are atoms sharp, and wound more fierce<\/span>4<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span>If they so far into our skins do pierce\u2014<\/span>5<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span>And like an angry porcupine, doth shoot<\/span>6<\/sup><\/a><\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span> 5
\n<\/span>His<\/span>7<\/sup><\/a><\/span> fiery quills, if nothing quench them out.
\n<\/span>Their figure makes their motion nimble, quick,<\/span>8<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span>And being sharp, they do like<\/span>9<\/sup><\/a><\/span> needles prick.
\n<\/span>If they do pierce too deep,<\/span>10<\/sup><\/a><\/span> our flesh will<\/span>11<\/sup><\/a><\/span> ache;
\n<\/span>If they but<\/span>12<\/sup><\/a><\/span> touch the skin,<\/span>13<\/sup><\/a><\/span> we pleasure take; \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span>\u00a010
\n<\/span>That kind of pain we do<\/span>14<\/sup><\/a><\/span> a \u201cburning\u201d call.
\n<\/span>These atoms numerous are,<\/span>15<\/sup><\/a><\/span> and very small,
\n<\/span>And make from needles\u2019 points<\/span>16<\/sup><\/a><\/span> a different touch,
\n<\/span>Whose<\/span>17<\/sup><\/a><\/span> points are gross, and numbers not so much,
\n<\/span>And<\/span>18<\/sup><\/a><\/span> cannot lie so close, nor<\/span>19<\/sup><\/a><\/span> spread so thin, \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span> 15
