What makes a spark of fire to burn more quick
\n<\/span>Than a great flame? Because \u2019tis small to stick.
\n<\/span>For fire itself is in its nature dry,<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span>Falls into parts as crowds of atoms lie.
\n<\/span>The sharpest atoms keep the body hot; \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span> 5
\n<\/span>To give out heat some atoms forth are shot.
\n<\/span>Sometimes the sparks for anger fly about,<\/span>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span>Or, wanting room, do thrust the weakest<\/span>4<\/sup><\/a><\/span>out.
\n<\/span>They are so sharp, that what they meet, devour<\/span>5<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/span>6<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span>If other atoms them not overpower:<\/span>7<\/sup><\/a><\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span> 10
\n<\/span>As ants, though<\/span>8<\/sup><\/a><\/span> small, will eat up a dead horse,
\n<\/span>So atoms sharp use<\/span>9<\/sup><\/a><\/span> bodies of less force.
\n<\/span>Thus atoms sharp grow<\/span>10<\/sup><\/a><\/span> sharper by degrees,
\n<\/span>As stings in flies are not so sharp as bees\u2019.
\n<\/span>And when they meet a body solid, flat, \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span> 15
\n<\/span>The weakest fly; the sharpest work on that.
\n<\/span>Those that are not so sharp do fly about
\n<\/span>To seek some lighter matter to eat<\/span>11<\/sup><\/a><\/span> out.
\n<\/span>Thus<\/span>12<\/sup><\/a><\/span> lighter atoms do turn air<\/span>13<\/sup><\/a><\/span> to flame,
\n<\/span>Because more thin and porous is the same. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> 20
\n<\/span>Thus flame is not so hot as burning coal:<\/span>14<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span>The atoms are too weak to take fast hold.<\/span>15<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\n<\/span>The sharpest into firmest bodies fly,
\n<\/span>But if their strength be small, they quickly die.
\n<\/span>Or if their number be not great, but small, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>25
