Small atoms of themselves a world may make,
\nFor, being subtle, every shape they take.<\/span>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nAnd as they dance about, they<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span> places find;
\nSuch forms as<\/span>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span> best agree make every kind.
\nFor when we build a<\/span>4<\/sup><\/a><\/span> house of brick or<\/span>5<\/sup><\/a><\/span> stone, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 5
\nWe lay them even, every one by one:
\nAnd when we find a gap that\u2019s big or small,
\nWe seek out stones to fit that place withal.
\nFor when as they<\/span>6<\/sup><\/a><\/span> too big or little be,
\nThey fall away and cannot stay, we see. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 10
\nSo atoms as they dance find places fit;
\nThey there remain, lie close, and fast will stick.<\/span>7<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nThose which not fit,<\/span>8<\/sup><\/a><\/span> the rest that rove about
\nDo never leave, until they thrust them out.
\nThus by their several motions, and their forms,<\/span>9<\/sup><\/a><\/span> \u00a0 15
\nAs several workmen serve each other\u2019s turns.<\/span>10<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nAnd so<\/span>11<\/sup><\/a><\/span> by chance<\/span>12<\/sup><\/a><\/span> may a new world create,
