When Death did hear what Nature did intend,
\nTo hinder her he all his force did bend.
\n<\/span>But finding all his forces were too weak,
\n<\/span>He always strives the thread of Life to break,
\n<\/span>And strives<\/span>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span> to fill the mind with black despair, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a05
\n<\/span>Lets it not rest in peace, nor free from care.
\n<\/span>And since he cannot make it die, he will
\n<\/span>Send grief and sorrow to torment it still.
\n<\/span>With grievous pains the body he displeases,
\n<\/span>And binds it hard with chains of strong diseases. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a010
\n<\/span>His servants Sloth and Sleep he doth employ
\n<\/span>To get half of the time before they die:
\n<\/span>But Sleep, a friend to Life, oft disobeys
\n<\/span>His master\u2019s will, and softly down her lays
\n<\/span>Upon her<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span> weary limbs, like birds in nest, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 15
