When we have pious thoughts and think of heaven,
\nYet go about, not ask to be forgiven,
\nPerchance they\u2019re<\/span>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span> preaching, or a chapter saying,
\nOr on their knees they are devoutly<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span> praying.
\nWhen we are sad, and know no reason why,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 5
\nPerchance it is because some there do die,
\nAnd some place may i\u2019th\u2019head be<\/span>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span> hung with black,
\nWhich makes us dull, yet know not what we lack.
\nOur fancies which in verse or prose we put

\nAnd when these fancies fine and thin do show,<\/span>5<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nThey may be graven in seal, for ought we know.<\/span>6<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nWhen we have cross<\/span>7<\/sup><\/a><\/span> opinions in the mind,
\nThen we may them in schools disputing<\/span>8<\/sup><\/a><\/span> find.
\nWhen we of childish toys do think, a fair<\/span>9<\/sup><\/a><\/span> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 15
\nMay be i\u2019th\u2019brain, where crowds of fairies are,<\/span>10<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nAnd in each stall<\/span>11<\/sup><\/a><\/span> may all such knacks be sold,
\nAs rattles, bells, or bracelets made<\/span>12<\/sup><\/a><\/span> of gold;
\nPins, whistles, and the like may<\/span>13<\/sup><\/a><\/span> be bought there,

\nAnd when our thoughts are merry, humours<\/span>17<\/sup><\/a><\/span> gay,
