The garden, which<\/span>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span> some Paradise do call,
\nIs placed just under<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span> th\u2019equinoctial.
\nEchoes there are most artificial made,
\nAnd cooling grottoes, from the heat to shade.
\nThe azure sky is always bright and clear;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 5
\nNo gross thick vapors in the clouds appear.
\nThere many stars do comfort the sad night;
\nThe fixed do twinkl\u2019and<\/span>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span> with the rest give light.
\nNo noise is heard, but what the ear delights;
\nNo fruits are there, but what the taste invites.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 10
\nUp through the nose bruised flowers fume<\/span>4<\/sup><\/a><\/span> the brain,
\nAs honeydew in balmy showers<\/span>5<\/sup><\/a><\/span> rain.
\nVarious colors, by Nature intermixed,
\nDivert the eyes so, as none can be fixed.<\/span>6<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nHere atoms small on sunbeams dance all day,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 15
\nWhile Zephyrus sweet doth on the air<\/span>7<\/sup><\/a><\/span> play,
\nWhich music from Apollo bears the praise,
\nAnd Orpheus at its<\/span>8<\/sup><\/a><\/span> sound his harp down lays.
\nApollo yields, and not contends with spite,
\nPresenting Zephyrus with twelve hours<\/span>9<\/sup><\/a><\/span> light. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 20
\nThe<\/span>10<\/sup><\/a><\/span> night, though sad, in quiet pleasure takes,
\nWith silence listens<\/span>11<\/sup><\/a><\/span> when he music makes,

\nOf grass, and sand, broad, short, and of all<\/span>15<\/sup><\/a><\/span> measure,
\nSome shaded for a<\/span>16<\/sup><\/a><\/span> lover\u2019s musing thought,

\nYet soft as down by grass that groweth there,
\nWhere daisies grow as mushrooms in a night,

\nIn little drops upon those daisies\u2019 heads;<\/span>21<\/sup><\/a><\/span>

\nSo daisies on the earth as close do lie.
\nHere emerald banks are,<\/span>23<\/sup><\/a><\/span> whence fine flowers spring,

\nThere trees do grow, that<\/span>30<\/sup><\/a><\/span> proper are, and tall,

\nWhose spreading tops are full, and ever green,
