The head of man is like the world made round,
\nAnd<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span> all the elements are in it<\/span>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span> found.
\nThe brain\u2019s the<\/span>4<\/sup><\/a><\/span> earth from whence all plants do spring,
\nAnd from the womb it doth all creatures bring.
\nForehead and nose are<\/span>5<\/sup><\/a><\/span> hills that<\/span>6<\/sup><\/a><\/span> do rise high, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 5
\nAnd<\/span>7<\/sup><\/a><\/span> overtop the dales that level lie.
\nThe hair, like<\/span>8<\/sup><\/a><\/span> trees which long<\/span>9<\/sup><\/a><\/span> in length do grow,
\nAnd like their<\/span>10<\/sup><\/a><\/span> leaves, which<\/span>11<\/sup><\/a><\/span> wind waves<\/span>12<\/sup><\/a><\/span> to and fro.
\nWit, like to several creatures, wild doth run<\/span>13<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nOn several subjects, which<\/span>14<\/sup><\/a><\/span> each other shun.<\/span>15<\/sup><\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 10
\nThe blood, as seas, doth through the veins run round,
\nThe sweat, as springs by which fresh water\u2019s found.
\nAs winds, which from the hollow caves do blow,
\nSo through the mouth the winded breath doth go.
\nThe eyes are like the sun, and do give<\/span>16<\/sup><\/a><\/span> light;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 15
\nWhen senses are asleep, it is dark night.
\nAnd<\/span>17<\/sup><\/a><\/span> after sleep half open are the eyes,
\nLike<\/span>18<\/sup><\/a><\/span> dawning light, when first the sun doth rise.
\nWhen they do drowsy grow, then sets the sun,<\/span>19<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nAnd when the lids are shut it is quite gone.<\/span>20<\/sup><\/a><\/span> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 20
\nWhen heavy they\u2019re and dull, like mist it seems,<\/span>21<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nOr a dark cloud which hides the sun\u2019s bright beams,<\/span>22<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nWhich shows that there some<\/span>23<\/sup><\/a><\/span> shower of tears will fall,
\nWhere cheeks, as flow\u2019ry banks, grow moist<\/span>24<\/sup><\/a><\/span> withal.
\nAs twinkling stars show in dark clouds most<\/span>25<\/sup><\/a><\/span> clear,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 25
\nSo fancies quick do in the brain appear.
\nImaginations like the orbs move round,<\/span>26<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nWhereof some<\/span>27<\/sup><\/a><\/span> quick, others are slower found.<\/span>28<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nAnd<\/span>29<\/sup><\/a><\/span> solid thoughts, like<\/span>30<\/sup><\/a><\/span> the twelve signs, do prove,<\/span>31<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nAnd round<\/span>32<\/sup><\/a><\/span> the zodiac of wisdom move,<\/span>33<\/sup><\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 30
\nWhere they as constantly in wisdom run,
\nAs in the line ecliptic doth the sun.<\/p>\n

I to th\u2019ecliptic<\/span>34<\/sup><\/a><\/span> line the head compare;
\nThe illustrious<\/span>35<\/sup><\/a><\/span> wit, to<\/span>36<\/sup><\/a><\/span> the sun\u2019s bright sphere.
\nThe brain I liken to<\/span>37<\/sup><\/a><\/span> the solid Earth,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 35
\nFrom whence all wisdom hath its life and birth,<\/span>38<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nAnd<\/span>39<\/sup><\/a><\/span> as the Earth, so is the<\/span>40<\/sup><\/a><\/span> head\u2019s round ball,
\nFor it is<\/span>41<\/sup><\/a><\/span> crowned with orbs celestial<\/span>42<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nAnd thus the<\/span>43<\/sup><\/a><\/span> head and world as one agree,
