Nature did of great rocks and mountains build<\/span>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nA city, with all sorts of creatures filled.<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nThe citizens are worms, which seldom stir,<\/span>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nBut sit within their shops and sell their ware.
\nThe moles are magistrates, who undermine<\/span>4<\/sup><\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 5
\nEach one\u2019s estate, that they their wealth may find,<\/span>5<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nAnd with<\/span>6<\/sup><\/a><\/span> extortions they<\/span>7<\/sup><\/a><\/span> high houses make,<\/span>8<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nCalled mole-hills, wherein they pleasure take.<\/span>9<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nThe lazy dormouse in her house<\/span>10<\/sup><\/a><\/span> doth keep\u2014
\nThe gentry, which doth<\/span>11<\/sup><\/a><\/span> eat, and drink, and sleep\u2014 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 10
\nUnless it be to hunt about for nuts,
\nWherein the sport is still to fill their guts.
\nThe peasant ants with their industrious feet<\/span>12<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nProvisions get, made by hard labors sweet.<\/span>13<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nThey dig, they draw, they plow, and reap with care,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 15
\nAnd what they get they to their barns do bear.
\nBut after all their husbandry and pains,
\nExtortion comes and eats up all their gains.
\nAll sorts of bugs, as several merchants, do<\/span>14<\/sup><\/a><\/span>

\nAnd make strong winds to send which way they will.
