Sweet marmalade of kisses newly<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span> gathered;
\nPreserved children which were never<\/span>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span> fathered;
\nSugar of beauty, which melts away<\/span>4<\/sup><\/a><\/span> soon;
\nMarchpane of youth, and childish macaroon;
\nSugar-plum words, which fall sweet from<\/span>5<\/sup><\/a><\/span> the lips;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 5
\nAnd wafer promises, which waste into<\/span>6<\/sup><\/a><\/span> chips;
\nBiscuits of love, which crumble<\/span>7<\/sup><\/a><\/span> all away;
\nJelly of fear that quaking,<\/span>8<\/sup><\/a><\/span> quivering lay.
\nThen was a fresh green-sickness cheese brought in,<\/span>9<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nAnd tempting fruit, like that which Eve made sin,<\/span>10<\/sup><\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 10

\nGrapes of delight, dull spirits to revive,
