In Nature\u2019s cabinet, the brain, you\u2019ll find
\nMany a toy<\/span>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span> which doth delight the mind:
\nSeveral colored ribbons of fancies<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span> new
\nTo tie in hats or hair of lovers true;
\nImagination\u2019s masks, where nothing\u2019s shown<\/span>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 5
\nBut th\u2019eyes of knowledge, all the rest unknown;<\/span>4<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nFans of opinion, which do waft<\/span>5<\/sup><\/a><\/span> the wind
\nAccording as the heat is in the mind;
\nGloves of remembrance to<\/span>6<\/sup><\/a><\/span> draw off and on\u2014
\nThoughts in the brain sometimes are<\/span>7<\/sup><\/a><\/span> there, then gone.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 10
\nVeils of forgetfulness the thoughts do hide,
\nWhich when<\/span>8<\/sup><\/a><\/span> turned up, then is their face espied.
\nPendants of understanding heavy there<\/span>9<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nAre found, but do not hang<\/span>10<\/sup><\/a><\/span> in every ear.
