\n<\/strong>What bodies else but man\u2019s did Nature make
\nTo join with such a mind, no rest can take,<\/span>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nThat ebbs and flows with full and falling tide,<\/span>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nAs minds dejected fall, or swell with pride,
\nIn waves of passion roll to billows high, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 5
\nAlways in motion, never quiet lie,
\nWhere thoughts like fishes swim the mind about,
\nAnd greater<\/span>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span> thoughts the smaller thoughts eat out.
\nMy body the bark<\/span>4<\/sup><\/a><\/span> rows in mind\u2019s ocean wide,
\nWhose<\/span>5<\/sup><\/a><\/span> waves of passions<\/span>6<\/sup><\/a><\/span> beat on every side. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 10
\nWhen that dark cloud of ignorance hangs low,
\nAnd winds of vain opinions strong do blow,
\nThen showers<\/span>7<\/sup><\/a><\/span> of doubts into the mind rain down;
\nIn deep vast studies<\/span>8<\/sup><\/a><\/span> my bark of flesh is drowned.<\/span>9<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Mind
\n<\/strong>Why doth the body thus complain, when I \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 15
\nDo help it forth of every misery?
\nFor in the world your bark is bound to swim;<\/span>10<\/sup><\/a><\/span>
\nNature hath rigged it<\/span>11<\/sup><\/a><\/span> out to traffic in.
\nAgainst hard rocks you<\/span>12<\/sup><\/a><\/span> break in pieces small,
\nIf my invention help<\/span>13<\/sup><\/a><\/span> you not in all. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 20
\nThe loadstone of attraction I find out;
\nThe card of observation guides about;
\nThe needle of discretion points the way,

\nYet in great mighty battles I am slain.
\nBy your ambition I am forced to fight,
\nWhen many wounds upon my body light.
\nFor you care not, so you a fame may have

\n<\/strong>If bodies fight and kingdoms win, then you
\nTake all the pleasure that belongs thereto.

\nNo drug unpractised to keep you alive.
\nAnd I, to set you up in high degree,

Mind

\nSorrow and grief are debts to friends we owe;
\nFear makes man just, to give each one his own;
\nShame makes civility; without there\u2019s none;
\nHate makes good laws, that all may live in peace;
