When the trailer for this film played in February of 1941, the Ontario Board of Censors cut the following bolded line: "...he acted like a perfect gentleman. He took his hands away the minute I asked him."

In addition, the Ontario Board cut the following lines of dialogue for local screenings:

  • on Reel I-II, the barmaid's line: "Publicans are as prolific as rabbits", and the response: "Prolific."
  • similar to the trailer, the following bolded line: "...he acted like a perfect gentleman. He took his hands away the minute I asked him."
  • on Reel V-VI, the bolded word in Harry's line: "God, chase me up a gun tree."
  • also on Reel V-VI, the bolded word in Harris's line: "It ought to be pretty damned long."
  • on Reel VII-VIII, the bolded words in the girl's line: "He walked into my room. I hadn't a stitch on. I told him I would about..."
  • on Reel IX, the bolded words in Small's line: "What the hell are you getting at?"
  • on Reel IX, the bolded words in Small's line: "Listen Harris, you are going a damned sight too far."

The Board also made a few more eliminations, only to change their minds and leave in the following pieces:

  • on Reel III-IV, the dialogue exchange: "I am not that kind of a man" and the barmaid's response "Do I look like that kind of a woman?"
  • on Reel V-VI, the barmaid's line to the bookie "I don't take money from men."
