According to John Stow (Survey of London 1.231), Sir Francis Drake's town house in London was near the river on the E side of Elbow Lane in the parish of St Mary Bothaw.
The house is long gone, but is known from an indenture of sale to have been a grand residence, with gardens, cellars, outbuildings and other amenities (Kelsey, Drake 346).
Possible performance venue. Although relevant family records do not survive, Sir Francis Drake's musicians appeared in Plymouth in 1594.
