Gastronomy, Culture, and the Arts: A Scholarly Exchange of Epic Portions, Conference Proceedings

On March 12–13, 2016, the Department of Language Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) hosted an on-campus international conference on the topic of gastronomy. We titled the conference Gastronomy, Culture, and the Arts: A Scholarly Exchange of Epic Portions in the hopes of capturing the highly interdisciplinary, highly intersectional position that food and Food Studies occupy in the Humanities and beyond. The two-day conference garnered much interest as thirty-seven outstanding local and international scholars (that is, not only from Canada and the United States, but from all over Europe and Asia as well) from cross- and multi-disciplinary areas of study came together to share their exciting and innovative research with the UTM community.
